30 Days of Going With the Flow

First blog post! Yay!
November 1st, notoriously recognized by most girls as the beginning of the end, the doomsday of their love life, the day that all hell breaks loose….No Shave November.

For me however, I wanted to avoid worrying about such frivolous things for an entire month and instead focus my attention on more noteworthy things…like YOGA…for thirty days!

I’ve always been a sweat-addict I guess you could say…but had never really considered yoga a workout until quite recently. My workout history is primarily composed of: boxing, kickboxing, step, weight-lifting, barre, and running. I had always viewed yoga as something designed for people who didn’t like to sweat.

I did Bikram’s Yoga for a while, constantly trying to convince myself that I was enjoying the 110 degree heat and that I was truly getting a good “yoga workout.”

It wasn’t until I started working for the BEST COMPANY IN THE WORLD (lululemon athletica) until I realized that sweaty, cardiovascular yoga DOES exists! Hallelujah. It’s called HOT POWER VINYASA FLOW and it has changed my perspective on what a workout truly is.

It’s almost been a year since I first started working for lululemon (Santa Barbara) and I figured what better way to celebrate that anniversary than honoring one of the company’s passions! As they say…
“Do One Thing A Day That Scares You.”
“Sweat Once a Day to Regenerate Your Skin.”
“Practice Yoga so You Can Remain Active in Physical Sports as You Age.”
…I’m committed to doing these things for the next thirty days! WOW! Crazy-Wild!
Power of Your Om, Santa Barbara is my studio of choice as it’s fun, upbeat, and dedicated to providing all its yogis with the best workout!

Anyway, I’m not sure how blogs really work but I’m just going with the FLOW. Today, November 2nd was the second day of my challenge and I am SO SORE (which I never thought was possible from yoga) and am SO HAPPY! Can’t wait to continue this exciting journey.

Tomorrow I’m taking a one hour and fifteen minute class, followed by running a 5k! Should be an interesting time.

My goal for the end of the thirty days is to be able to come into a tri-pod headstand without using the wall!

I am also dedicated to eating healthy during this month…and forever (but I’ll take baby steps for now…)

My Healthy Meals!

READY, SET, GO!
